Telefónica’s wholesale business unit, Telefónica International Wholesale Services (TIWS), has announced the commercial launch of a new Data Roaming monitoring feature for its Business Intelligence & Analytics solution.
Business Intelligence & Analytics is a comprehensive set of tools which enables a Mobile Network Operator to analyze and manage the quality of service and customer experience across their roaming business. Accessible through a web portal the tool provides users with immediate access to information about a wide range of parameters relevant to their business and operations, such as roamer distribution per country, data volumes or registration attempts per destination. They can also configure personal alerts with specific thresholds based on their own requirements to measure quality indicators such as packet loss or registration success rates, and for deeper insight, they can create customizable reports which provide data on up to 140 KPIs and attributes.
The launch of the new Data Roaming feature for both 2G/3G definition (GTPv1) and 4G implementation (GTPv2) expands the range of international connectivity services supported by the Business Intelligence & Analytics tool. With SCCP Global Signalling and LTE Diameter Exchange services already supported, Telefónica’s customers can now view all elements related to their international roaming activity and combine metrics from different environments into customized reports – all through a single tool. Having this 360-degree view of their roaming business not only helps operators to improve their decision-making and customer satisfaction levels, but also reduces overall operating costs.
