Logicalis supports the 7th edition of Mobile Campus

Following its strategy of boosting innovation, Logicalis, a global information and communication technology solutions and services company, is supporting the 7th edition of Campus Mobile, an initiative of the Claro Embratel Institute, with the Laboratory of Integral Technological Systems (LSI-TEC) and the support of the Polytechnic School of USP. Together, the institutions aim to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of young university students, as well as ensuring innovation in the area of mobility in the country.

This year, students have the opportunity to develop their solutions using EUGENIO, the IoT platform of Logicalis. It is a complete open standards-based, cloud-hosted platform designed to accelerate the development of internet of things projects, solving issues related to collection, storage, analysis and action on data generated by smart devices. Currently, 16 groups enrolled in the program are already developing their projects based on technology.

“In this edition we have several proposals that involve the development of connected smart sensors. Having a platform that allows managing data collection and analyzing information certainly drives project progress faster,” says Alexandre Martinazzo, Laboratory of Integrated Systems of USP.

Logicalis’ participation in the competition, however, goes beyond technological support to students. The company is also participating through lectures on the features of EUGENIO; its executives participated in mentoring sessions to guide the work in progress, and will also participate in the evaluation bank that will select the winning groups. Altogether, 14 employees are involved in the initiative.

“This is an opportunity to promote innovation and to support the academic community. Initiatives such as Campus Mobile meet Logicalis’ mission to transform society through technology, “says Fabio Hashimoto, director of software services at Logicalis.

Students were able to enroll their projects in four categories: Education, Diversity, Smart Cities and Smart Farms. The competition, which began in September 2018, includes lectures with experts from the segment, online classes and a one-day workshop at the University of São Paulo (USP), for the development of prototypes. The best jobs in each category will earn an immersion trip to Silicon Valley in the United States, the world’s leading technology innovation hub.

“Each year the number of partner companies in Campus Mobile grows. This makes us happy for many reasons: we have the opportunity to mobilize knowledge and resources to make the experience more and more enriching for young entrepreneurs, to consolidate the face-to-face week as a great market showcase for the projects that seek support and investment, finally, to realize that the seriousness of the work done by us together with the Laboratory of Integral Systems of USP has already become a national reference to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in the technology and innovation market, “says Flávio Rodrigues, project manager at the Instituto NET Of course Embratel.
